A Connecticut 501(c)(3) public charity
Funding the people who rescue, heal and protect animals.
Animal Life Foundation, Inc. improves the welfare of animals through charitable grantmaking, strategic partnerships and support for organizations doing rescue, rehabilitation and veterinary care.
Our mission
The Foundation's mission is to improve the welfare of animals through charitable grantmaking, strategic partnerships, and support for organizations that rescue, rehabilitate, provide veterinary care for, shelter, and protect animals.
We look for effective nonprofit organizations whose programs show measurable results, and we fund the work that reduces animal suffering most directly.
What we support
Grants are approved by our Board of Directors after an independent review of each organization's programs, leadership, finances and proposed use of funds. Every grant is governed by a written agreement and followed by narrative and financial reporting.
Rescue & rehabilitation
Care for abandoned, neglected and abused animals until they can be placed in permanent homes.
Veterinary care
Emergency surgeries, medical treatment, vaccines, medications and supplies.
Spay & neuter
Programs that reduce the number of homeless animals over the long term.
Shelter improvements
Construction and upgrades to shelters, quarantine areas and treatment spaces.
Humane education
Community outreach that promotes responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
Disaster response
Rescue, shelter and veterinary care for animals affected by natural disasters.
Our first grant partner: Costa Rica
During its early years, the Foundation expects to direct a substantial share of its grants to Animal Love Rescue Center, a nonprofit in Costa Rica dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, treating and rehoming vulnerable animals.
The Foundation's Board retains full discretion and control over all grants and may support other qualified organizations in the United States or internationally as resources grow.
